The Ballistic Protection System (BPS) was developed by LifePort. LifePort’s BPS is manufactured from High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE) fiber and ballistic steel offering the lightest weight technology in composite armor solutions and maximizing crew comfort and ballistic coverage. The BPS is certified in accordance with National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Level III Standard 018.01 providing a multi-hit ballistic solution defeating the 7.62 mm full metal jacket (U.S. military designation M80) ball round. The BPS is encapsulated with LifeGard, a protective coating that seals and protects the composite armor. The coating increases the life and durability of the system as well as providing a slip resistant surface.
